Kilkenny Playschool

Program Eligibility

 

The Kilkenny Playschool is required to follow the regulations outlined in the Child Care Licensing Act under the jurisdiction of the Child Services Department, Government of Alberta. In order to be eligible to attend Kilkenny Playschool commencing in September, all participants must:

 

• Have had their 3rd birthday prior to starting the program (May register for later start date in cases where child is 2 on the first day of school, but turns 3 by December 31st.)

• Be 4 years of age on or before December 31st for the 4 year old program (one year prior to kindergarten)

• Be completely toilet-trained. They must be able to manage themselves in the washroom and are not allowed to attend wearing training pants (i.e. Pull-Ups, Easy-Ups etc.)Special circumstances may be considered on an individual basis, such as a child with special needs who is not toilet trained. This situation would require approval by the teacher and the playschool executive.
