Playschool Executive
Kilkenny Playschool is a parent-run organization that depends on the Volunteer Parent Executive Committee to deliver an efficient and quality program. The Executive meets once a month and is collectively responsible for the administration of the Playschool by:

Acting as employer for the teacher.

Meeting and maintaining the licensing requirements of the provincial, city and fire safety departments.

Approving and assisting with special events.

Being aware of changes and services available to the Playschool in the community at large.

Reserving the right to suspend students from classes for breaches of the operating rules and regulations.

Keeping parents informed of events.

Seeking and honoring the view of the parents belonging to the Playschool Cooperative.

Acting as the Liaison between the Kilkenny Community League and the Playschool.
The Executive regards any personal information that arises within the Playschool confidential.
To maintain a smooth transition between current and new Executive Committee members, it is imperative that the new Committee be put in place as soon as possible.
Overview of Executive Volunteer Positions
President
Responsible for providing active leadership, chairs executive and general meetings. Ensures the duties assigned to the executive committee and teacher are performed. Attends community league meetings and keeps members fully informed of the ongoing operations of the playschool.
Vice President
Responsible for the registration of children in the program, provides email correspondence, advertises program and assists the President as required.
Treasurer
Handles all finances, collects registration money, issues receipts, prepares payroll, pays bills, maintains accurate records and keeps members informed of financial matters.
Secretary
Records minutes of executive committee meetings, prints and maintains attendance lists, prints other materials as required (permission slips, sign up sheets etc).
Field Trip and Party Coordinator
Coordinates field trips (location and transportation), works in collaboration with the teacher to provide special events and parties.
